A Memorable Evening at the Koerich Castle with Luxembourg Jazz Voices
An Evening of Jazz for a Noble Cause
On Wednesday, June 26th, in the stunning setting of the Château de Koerich, we welcomed the Luxembourg Jazz Voices for a captivating, exciting, and entertaining concert! It was not just the music that made the evening special—there was also a delightful culinary treat: arrosticini, small skewers of lamb straight from Italy! All proceeds from the concert and the refreshment stand were dedicated to supporting our projects in Malawi.

The concert was organized to raise funds for a specific project, Ampelos. Father Joseph Kimu, whom we regard as a visionary, has been a driving force behind various initiatives such as building wells, classrooms, libraries, and biogas plants. His enduring dream has been to provide education to children in his region, with a particular focus on girls who, in Malawi (as in many other parts of Africa), struggle to continue their education beyond primary school. His vision is to see women achieve important positions that contribute to the growth and development of their country. For years, he has been working towards this dream through the St. John Girls Secondary School in Mangochi—a private school that welcomes many deserving yet underprivileged girls, enabling them to obtain their high school diplomas and even attend university.

The June 26th concert featured the Luxembourg Jazz Voices, a choir established six years ago under the direction of Edith van den Heuvel, from the INECC, the European Institute of Choral Singing. The group, comprised of 22 singers from 12 different countries, is united by their passion for music. Their repertoire is diverse, spanning from swing to bossa nova, funk to pop, and jazz renditions of international classics. Inspired by vocal groups like the Manhattan Transfer and New York Voices, the choir was accompanied by a superb jazz trio (piano, bass, and drums), promising an emotionally charged and surprising performance that captivated the audience with its vibrant energy.

We are pleased to share that all proceeds from the concert and the bar were directed towards our ongoing projects in Malawi. Your support not only made this evening special but also contributed to a meaningful cause.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and made this event a success!
